子ども達を照らす太陽の光が柔らかくなったな気がします。
それでは、今週のサタデースクールの様子をご紹介します。
In craft we made our own pterodactyls! Not only did we get to make fun, flying dinosaurs but we also got to practice our scissor skills.
工作の時間では、自分たちの翼竜を作りました。
空飛ぶ恐竜を作るだけでなく、ハサミの練習もしました。
Nothing is more exciting than an active volcano and today we made our own in class!
While ours was only a mix of baking soda, food dye and vinegar, but the children still loved it.
火山ほどエキサイティングなものはありません！今日はクラスで自分たちの火山を作りました。
重曹、食用色素、酢を混ぜただけですが、子どもたちは大喜びでした。
During our library time, we spent a relaxing time reading books of our choice, such as The Gingerbread Man.
図書室では、「The Gingerbread Man」など好きな本を読み、リラックスした時間を過ごしました。
In the advanced classes we learned the English names for different countries and what their people are called.
The children had fun guessing how to say the nationalities and even more fun putting together flag puzzles at the end!
Advancedクラスでは、様々な国の英語名と国民の呼び名を学びました。
子どもたちは国の名前を当てるのを楽しみ、最後は国旗パズルを作って楽しみました。
Hinamatsuri is just around the corner, and we have a lovely display in our main entrance.
The children have been curious about it and it affords a great opportunity for younger children to learn about Japanese culture in English.
ひな祭りが近づいてきました。玄関に素敵な雛人形が飾られており、
子どもたちも興味津々で、低学年の子どもたちには日本の文化を英語で学ぶ良い機会になっています。
In ESL we reviewed animals and learned about which ones we can find on farms. Afterwards we sang “Old MacDonald.”
ESLでは、動物について復習し、農場で見かける動物について学びました。その後、”Old MacDonald “を歌いました。
Today we played balloon volleyball with a twist. One of the teachers acted as the Balloon Zombie and
if the children couldn’t keep their balloon up in the air, the zombie would take it!
今日は一工夫して風船バレーをしました。先生の一人が風船ゾンビになり、
子どもたちが風船を上げ続けることができなければ、ゾンビが風船を持って行ってしまうというものです。
In the advance classes, we’re learning about different hobbies and how people spend their spare time.
One of the activities the children enjoy more than most is filling in the song lyrics.
アドバンスクラスでは、様々な趣味や余暇の過ごし方について学んでいます。
その中で、子どもたちが最も楽しんでいるのが、歌の歌詞を埋める活動です。
Today was a review day in our books and it came with a fun game for us to play together.
We did it in pairs and reviewed how to ask for directions.
今日はテキストの復習の日で、みんなで一緒にできる楽しいゲームが付いていました。
二人一組のペアを組み、お互いに道の聞き方を復習しました。
Today we reviewed how to write all of the capital letters.
Above each capital is an image that belongs to the letter, which helps create associations, i.e. “H is for House.”
今日は、大文字のアルファベットの書き方を復習しました。
それぞれの大文字の上には、その文字から始まるモノのイメージが描かれており、
“H is for House “のような連想がしやすくなっています。
