来週のハロウィンパーティーに向けて園内はハロウィンデコレーションを施し、準備万端です。
登園してきた子ども達もハロウィンのデコレーションを見て、「Halloween!!!」「Scary!!」と大盛り上がりでした。
それでは、今週のサタデースクールの様子をご紹介いたします。
Today we practiced our understanding of adjectives by playing a guessing game where the children had to find out what item the teacher was thinking of by asking about how it smells, tastes, feels, looks, and sounds like.
今日のレッスンでは副詞をテーマにGuessing Gameをしました。先生の思い浮かべているものについて、子ども達は“どのような匂い・感触・味・音”なのかを質問しながら当てるというゲームです。
In the gym we played a fun game of Ghosts in the Graveyard. The children enjoyed fleeing from the monsters!
ジムクラスでは、ハロウィンにちなんで、Ghosts in the Graveyard（墓地のお化けたち）というゲームをしました。お墓に見立てたマットを隠れ蓑に子ども達はお化けにつかまらない様に逃げていました。
During tech time, the children have the opportunity to earn stars by reading books on the iPad. If they get enough stars, they can customize their alien avatar however they wish!
テクノロジーの時間ではiPadを使ってリーディングの練習をしました。ゲーム感覚で読み進めていくと星が貰え、たくさん星を集めてエーリアンのアバターを好きにカスタマイズしていきます。
Today we learned about the capital letter G. Every letter has a unique chant that helps the children understand how the letters are written.
幼稚園クラスのライティングの時間には大文字のGを練習しました。アルファベット一つ一つにライティングチャントがあり、先生の後に続いてチャントを言いながらまずは指で空中に書く練習です。その後、テキストを使って実際に鉛筆で書いてみます。
The children broke into two teams and played a relay race game involving clothing. The teacher would hold up a card and the other children had to shout out the word for their teammates to draw on the board as fast as they could.
子ども達は衣類をテーマに2チームに分かれてリレーゲームをしました。先生が弾いたカードに書かれた衣服の単語を大きな声でチームメイトに伝え、それを聞いたチームメイトがホワイトボードにその衣服の絵を描き、早く絵を描けたチームの勝ちです！
The weather was so nice today and the children enjoyed playing outside. The built such a nice house with the blocks!
外はとてもいいお天気で、子ども達はブロックを使ってお家を作ったりと外遊びを楽しみました☆
Today we made wreaths during our craft time using fall colored paper that the children ripped themselves.
今日は秋のリースを作成しました。子ども達は手でちぎった秋色の画用紙を思い思いに貼り付けてリースを完成させていました。
Today during word time, we learned about the opposites calm and rough. We applied these words to situations involving travel.
Word Timeでは対となる“calm”と“rough”の単語について学びました。
In music the children enjoyed practicing the xylophone through English instruction.
Musicの時間には木琴を演奏しました。小学生クラスでは両手にマレット（スティック）を持ってより複雑な曲を練習しています。
Today all elementary level children had a valuable opportunity to take a mock YLE Exam. In the morning, we practiced the listening section and in the afternoon we practiced reading and writing.
小学生クラスの子ども達はケンブリッジ英語検定試験の演習に取り組みました。リスニングとリーディング＆ライティングの2つのセクションに分かれており、11月の本番に向けて練習に力が入ります。
