This week, the elementary classes continued working hard on their shop products. The Advanced Yellow Class, in particular, was full of excitement—they couldn’t wait to show off their creations as soon as I entered the room! The students eagerly explained the features of their products and even asked which ones I liked best. Pink and Purple took their material lists from last week with them to the upstairs craft room. “Can we have straws?” they asked in unison as their teacher fetched the materials. It was a wonderful moment of teamwork—and a great opportunity to practice using English in a real-world context! To prepare for their upcoming beach shop project, the Advanced Green Class set up a mock shop in the classroom! Using Kapla blocks and animal toys, they created a playful pet store and took turns acting as both customers and salespeople. The children practiced real-world sales techniques like bargaining and upselling—it felt just like a real store! Advanced Greenクラスでは、ビーチショッププロジェクトに向けて、教室内に模擬ショップをオープンしました！Kaplaブロックや動物のおもちゃを使って、かわいらしいペットショップを作り、交代でお客さん役と店員さん役を楽しみました。値段交渉やおすすめ販売など、実際の接客のようなやりとりも練習しました。本物のお店のような雰囲気で、とても盛り上がりました！
This week, the Chicks and Sparrows played a fun game of “Red Light, Green Light” in the gym—this time with a twist! The children pretended to drive their own cars, stopping and going with the teacher’s cues. Every so often, the teacher would call out the name of a vehicle, and the children would perform a stretch or pose to match it. For example, when they heard “ambulance,” they lay down and pretended to be “injured,” just like in the photo!
今週、ChicksクラスとSparrowsクラスは、ジムで「Red Light, Green Light（止まれ、進め）」ゲームをひねりを加えて楽しみました！子どもたちは自分の車を運転しているふりをしながら、先生の合図でストップ＆ゴーを繰り返します。ときどき先生が「ambulance（救急車）」などの乗り物の名前を呼ぶと、それに合わせたポーズやストレッチをしました。たとえば「ambulance」と聞くと、寝転んで“けが人”のふりをしたりして、写真のように楽しく遊びました！
To wrap up their unit, the Pink and Purple Classes reviewed the vocabulary they’ve learned with a fun board game! This special version of “Snakes and Ladders” had a unique twist—depending on where they landed, their pieces would move “up” a lift or “down” the stairs. It was a playful and effective way to reinforce their learning! PinkクラスとPurpleクラスは、これまでに学んだ語彙を使って、すごろく形式のボードゲームで復習しました！特別バージョンの「Snakes and Ladders（へびとはしご）」では、マスに止まった場所によって“エレベーターで上へ”行ったり“階段で下へ”戻ったりと、ユニークなルールで大盛り上がり！遊びながらしっかり学ぶことができました。
At the end of the day, the preschool classes came together for a big post office roleplay! The children split into two teams—one team wrote letters to their friends, while the other acted as postal workers, delivering the mail and sorting it at the post office. Everyone had a great time thinking of sweet messages to send, making it a fun and memorable way to end the day!
一日の終わりには、Preschoolクラス合同で大きな郵便局ごっこを行いました！子どもたちは2チームに分かれ、一方はお友だちへの手紙を書くチーム、もう一方は郵便局員になって手紙を配達・仕分けするチームでした。だれにどんなメッセージを送るかを考えるのも楽しく、とても思い出に残るアクティビティになりました！
The Pink class thought about their wishes for the future and practiced writing their sentences in their journals. Pinkクラスでは、「将来の夢」について考え、それを文にしてジャーナルに書く練習をしました。
After finishing their wish cards (Tanzaku), the Pink class reached as high as they could to put them on the bamboo tree! 願い事カード（短冊）を書き終えたPinkクラスの子どもたちは、できるだけ高いところに届くように、竹の笹に手を伸ばして飾り付けました！
The Cubs wrote each other letters, and then delivered them using the mail carrier bags they created! Cubsでは、お友だちに手紙を書き、自分たちで作った郵便屋さんバッグを使って、その手紙を届けました！
