During the first few weeks of class we became familiar with a variety of fun methods we can use to learn and practice spelling. First, we worked with our partners to practice spelling words and if possible, we drew pictures to demonstrate our understanding of the word.
As we become more familiar with using English – friendly websites, we are able to use apps such as Kids A-Z to play spelling games that also test our listening and reading comprehension skills.
Here we were given a word which we had a race to see who could find the word in the dictionary the quickest. If we were unsure of the meaning, we read the definition as a group. This word, muscle, was particularly difficult as we learned it has some silent letters in it.
