Something that we focus on a lot in the Purple Class is our vocabulary and spelling. The children have a three class cycle, where they learn new words, then spend time spelling them and studying them in fun and unique ways, before playing a collaborative spelling game on the whiteboard, and then finally having a spelling test, reviewing what they’ve learned the previous two classes. In this photo you can see the children playing with the Kapla blocks, using them to form our vocabulary words together on the carpet.
高槻茨木校・アフタースクールのPurpleクラスで、現在特に力を入れているのがボキャブラリー（語彙）とスペリング（綴り）です。まず新しい英単語を学び、その後、楽しくユニークな方法でおさらいし、次のレッスンではホワイトボードを使ったスペリングゲームを行います。最後にスペリングテストを実施して、これまで2回のレッスンで学んだ内容を復習しています。

Our course books contain a lot of information and vocabulary aside from the vocabulary we take time to study during spelling time. With this vocabulary, we have individual flash cards, focusing on whatever the current unit we are in is about. Finding fun new ways to use these flash cards is a great challenge, and is something that I try to change constantly, to keep the children on their toes! They have really enjoyed games like “Slap”, or our “Bean Bag Toss” that help them remember the vocabulary from the course book.
生徒達が学んでいるコースブックには、スペリングを学ぶ時間に紹介している英単語以外にも、数多くの情報とボキャブラリーが含まれています。これらの英単語については、現在学習中のユニットの内容に焦点を当てた個別のフラッシュカードを用意しています。生徒達にスペリングやボキャブラリーへのさらなる興味を持ってもらうため、これらのフラッシュカードを楽しく活用する新しい方法にいつも取り組んでいます！
コースブックから学んだボキャブラリーを身に付けるのに役立つ「Slap（スラップ）」や「Bean Bag Toss（お手玉投げ）」といったゲームは、Purpleクラスの生徒達にも大変好評です。
Our course books are filled with so many new ideas and sections about the world around us. Sometimes, the children are challenged to use the internet to look up information about their own country, or other countries around the world. This is always such a fun experience, and one that the children really get into, as they get to learn and expand their knowledge in a unique and more modern way. We are looking forward to continuing to expand the children’s knowledge of foreign countries, as well as our home here in Japan, through interesting internet research!

レッスンでは、生徒達はインターネットを使って自分の国や世界中の国々について調べる課題にもチャレンジしています。このアクティビティはいつも大変楽しく、生徒達も夢中になって取り組んでいる姿が見られます。ユニークで現代な方法で学びを深め、知識を広げることができるからです。これからも、インターネット等を活用しながら、生徒達の他の国々について知ると共に、ここ日本という自分自身の故郷についての知識もさらに深めていくことを楽しみにしています！
