As it is the first month of a new class, some children are familiar with each other and some are meeting for the first time! The children have been getting to know each other better, and myself included, during our circle times or general discussions, whilst getting used to the new environment. We have been off to a great start and the children are doing well in openly talking with each other about a variety of things and feeling comfortable in the classroom.
アフタースクール・Purpleクラスの新しい1年が始まりました。
4月から新しいメンバーでのクラスとなり、昨年度から一緒に学んでいた子もいれば、初めて同じクラスなった子もおり、生徒達にとっても新鮮なスタートとなったようです。レッスンを通して、生徒達は新しい環境に慣れ、サークルタイムやディスカッションの中で、担任も含めてお互いのことを分かり合うようになってきました。生徒達は様々なことをオープンに話し合い、楽しく英語を学んでいます。
This year the purple class children have started using new textbooks and workbooks. This can be quite intimidating but also provides a new challenge in itself for the children. I am glad to say that many of the children seem to be progressing well with the books and show confidence or enthusiasm in completing the tasks whilst enjoying expanding their knowledge of the English language.
レッスン初日には、4月から新しく使うテキストとワークブックを生徒達に紹介しました。昨年度よりさらに進んだ内容となり、初めは少し難しく感じるかもしれませんが、生徒達にとって新たな学びのチャレンジでもあります。嬉しいことに、多くの生徒達はテキストを上手に使いこなしており、英語の知識を広げることを楽しみながら、自信とやる気をもってレッスンに取り組む姿が見られました。
The children have been actively participating and enjoying many of the games or activities we have been doing in class! Here you can see one of our roleplay games where the children took on different roles e.g., driver, passengers and even more whacky roles such as becoming the car itself (windshield wipers, doors)! This has been one of our more popular activities where they practiced using language around travelling and needing to get to places! It has been a delight seeing how enthusiastic the purple class has been in taking part in these more practical/physical games, so we will definitely be incorporating more of this in the future!
また、レッスンでは机に座っての学びだけでなく、様々なゲームやアクティビティを取り入れており、生徒達も大変積極的に参加して楽しんでいます！
こちらの写真は、ある日のレッスンで行ったロールプレイのゲームの様子です。生徒達は運転手や乗客、さらに車そのもの（ワイパー／ドア）になるなど、様々な役割にチャレンジしました！旅行や移動にまつわるボキャブラリー（語彙）を学ぶことができるアクティビティで、生徒達は大いに盛り上がりながら参加していました。このようなより実践的かつ身体を使ったゲームを通して、Purpleクラスの生徒達が自らの英語の知識をさらに深めていく姿に接し、とても嬉しく思っています。
