In Unit 5, we learned about the animal world. While the children were familiar with animal diets, it was the first to learn about the names of animals with certain diets—Carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Here, we played a guessing game where the children had to categorize the animals to which type they thought the animals belonged to. The children were quick to give their opinions to their friends and moved the animals back and forth as they saw fit.
Unit 5のレッスンでは、動物の世界について学習しました。すでに動物が何を食べているか知っている子が多くいましたが、肉食類・草食類・雑食類といった特定の食生活を持つ動物の名前を学ぶのは初めてでした。クラスでは推測ゲームをしながら、どの動物がどのカテゴリーに属するのかを考えました。友達に自分の意見を伝えながら、カテゴリーを行き来させ、正しいと思うカテゴリー別に動物のカードを分けました。
At the end of each unit, we provide time to review the subjects. We practiced writing and comprehension with whiteboards. The teacher posed a question, and the children discussed their answers with their partners.
各ユニットの終わりには、学んだことを復習する時間を設けています。ホワイトボードを使って、ライティングと読解力の練習を行いました。先生が出した問題に対し、友達と話し合いながら答えを考えました。
In Unit 6, we talked about the weather. During this activity, we talked about the differences between “go” and “do”. The children discussed what they could do in each weather, and finally presented their topics in front of the class. During presentations, the audience is encouraged to give more input about their ideas on the subjects.
Unit 6のレッスンでは、天気について学びました。ある日のアクティビティーでは「go」と「do」の違いについて考え、どんな天気のときはどんなことができるのか話し合い、クラスの前で発表する時間を設けました。プレゼンテーションの間、観客席からは他のアイデアも挙がり、各回とても盛り上がりました。
