The Owls absolutely love visiting the library! Each week, the children go upstairs to practice their phonics sounds and listen to a story read by the teacher. If there is time left at the end, they are free to explore books that interest them. The children enjoy bringing books to the teacher and sharing any English words they recognize!
Owlsクラスの子どもたちは、図書室に行くのが大好きです！毎週、子どもたちは2階へ上がり、フォニックスの練習をしたり、先生が読み聞かせてくれる物語を聞いたりしています。最後に時間があれば、興味のある本を自由に探して読むこともできます。子どもたちは、本を持って先生のもとへ行き、知っている英語の単語を教えるのをとても楽しんでいます！
All of the elementary classes worked hard to put the finishing touches on their restaurant food for next week’s big roleplay! Some classes were nearly finished, while others were scrambling to complete the last few items on their menus. In some cases, the children only made one of each food item for their menu! This means only one lucky customer will be able to order that dish. We’re curious to see how the restaurants will handle their very limited menu items during next week’s roleplay!
来週の大きなロールプレイに向けて、すべての小学生クラスの子どもたちがレストランの料理の仕上げに一生懸命取り組んでいました！ほぼ完成しているクラスもあれば、メニューの最後の数品を急いで仕上げているクラスもありました。中には、メニューの料理を1品ずつしか作らなかったクラスもありました！つまり、その料理を注文できるのは、たった1人の幸運なお客様だけということですね。来週のロールプレイで、各レストランが限られたメニューをどのように対応していくのか、とても楽しみです！これは・・・フレンチフライといくらの軍艦巻きでしょうか？

Advanced Green played an addition relay! The teacher called out a large number, and the children had to run to the other side of the room to pick up number cards. Working together with their teammates, they tried to create the same total that the teacher called out. The first team to make the correct sum won the round!
Advanced Green クラスは、この日もリレーゲームで盛り上がりました！先生が大きな数字を言い、子どもたちは教室の反対側まで走って数字のカードを取りに行きました。チームメイトと協力し合い、先生が言った数字の合計と同じ数字を作るよう努めました。正解の合計を最初に作り上げたチームがそのラウンドの勝者となりました！
Pink and Purple have been practicing the past tense using “was” and “were.” Today, the children completed a table in their activity books by interviewing their classmates. They asked questions such as, “Where were you on (day) in the (morning/afternoon/evening)?” and recorded their friends’ answers.
PinkクラスとPurpleクラスは、「was」と「were」を使った過去形の練習をしてきました。今日は、子どもたちがクラスメートにインタビューをして、アクティビティブックの表を完成させました。子どもたちは「（曜日）の（午前／午後／夕方）はどこにいましたか？」といった質問をし、友達の答えを書き留めました。
Red and Blue reviewed vocabulary using a YLE poster activity! The children took turns asking each other, “Can you find the…?” while their partners pointed to the item on the poster. Things became even more exciting when the activity turned into a “Who can find it faster?” challenge!
RedクラスとBlueクラスは、YLEのポスターを使ったアクティビティで単語の復習をしました！子どもたちは順番に「これ、見つかる？」と尋ね合い、パートナーはポスター上のその物を指さしました。アクティビティが「誰が一番早く見つけられるかな？」という競争になると、さらに盛り上がりました！
The Chicks and Sparrows practiced their listening skills by gathering ingredients to make a pizza! The teacher would say things like, “Mmm, I’m hungry! I want three peppers on my pizza!” and the children would run to their little kitchen to find the correct ingredients. We hope this activity will help prepare them for their big restaurant roleplay next week!
ChicksクラスSparrowsクラスは、ピザを作るための材料を集めながら、聞き取りの練習をしました！先生が「うーん、お腹すいた！ピザにピーマンを3つ乗せて！」などと声をかけると、子どもたちは小さなキッチンへ走って行き、正しい材料を探しました。この活動が、来週行われるレストランごっこへの準備になることを願っています！
As we finish off the school year, the Adv. Orange class is learning the song “You’ve Got A Friend”.
今年度もそろそろ終わりを迎えようとしています。Advanced Orangeクラスは「You’ve Got A Friend」という曲を練習しています。この曲はキャロル・キングの名曲です。落ち込んだり悩んだりした時に、いつでも君の側に駆けつけるよというあたたかいメッセージが込められた歌です。
