5/23のサタデースクールの様子をご紹介します！
Preschool Classes
The Preschool Classes learned about verbs today! They played a game of “Mother, May I…” where they had to ask the teacher if they could perform certain actions. They loved being able to run, walk, crawl, and lie down. The children carefully listened to the instructions and tried their best to say the chant before moving.
プリスクールクラスは「動詞」について学習しました！『Mother, May I…（お母さん、〇〇してもいいですか？）』というゲームに挑戦し、先生にアクションをとっていいかどうか質問をしていきます。走ったり(run)、歩いたり(walk)、ハイハイしたり(crawl)、寝転んだり(lie down)と様々な動詞にトライしてみました。みんな、先生の指示をよく聞いてアクションをとる前に質問することができました。
Advanced Green
Advanced Green played a “Find Someone Who…” activity as part of their technology unit. They were encouraged to stand up and talk to classmates other than their usual friends. The children practiced asking and answering questions in English while searching for classmates who matched each category.
Advanced Greenクラスでは、『Find Someone Who…（〇〇な人を探せ）』というアクティビティーを行いました。いつも隣に座っている友達だけでなく、教室内を回り、いろんなクラスメートと話す機会となりました。英語で質問をしたり、答えたりする練習をしながら、テキストに出てくるカテゴリーに当てはまる友達を探しました！
Advanced Navy
Yamada School is currently under construction, and the outside play area has been condensed. To give the children more space to play, we opened up part of the gym and let the children enjoy toys they do not usually get to play with, such as the ping pong table and scooters. The children were very excited to have a different play environment and enjoyed moving around freely with their friends.
校舎の外装工事に伴い園庭が限られているため、ジムの一部を開放し、室内でも遊べるように工夫しています。また、いつもは使わない卓球台やスクーターを出してみました。子ども達もいつもとは違う環境を楽しんでくれたようで、自由に友達と遊ぶ姿が見られました。
Pink Class
This month, the children will be learning about homes! They began by learning the vocabulary for the theme using YLE posters and flashcards. The children then played a game where the teacher shouted a word and the children had to touch the corresponding card. The children became very competitive and counted how many cards they had collected after every round!
今月は『家』について学んでいます！ケンブリッジ国際児童英検のポスターやフラッシュカードに使われている『家』にまつわるボキャブラリーを学ぶことから始め、フラッシュカードを使った「かるた」を行いました。徐々に白熱した戦いとなり、毎回、何枚カードが取れたか嬉しそうに数えていました！
Pink and Purple
This month’s project is creating their own bedrooms! The children were given templates to trace the walls and furniture. The teachers assigned certain templates to different tables, so the children had to go to other groups and ask to borrow them. It was a great way to encourage communication amongst the children! The children did a wonderful job using English to ask for materials and worked together to share the templates fairly.
PinkクラスとPurpleクラスでは、ベッドルームを作るプロジェクトを行っています。壁や家具を書き写すテンプレートを配布しました。テンプレートはグループごとに異なるので、自分のグループにないテンプレートを使いたいときは、別のグループに借りに行く必要があります。子ども達同志でのコミュニケーションが広がるアクティビティーとなりました！みんな、上手に英語を使いながら材料を貸し借りすることができ、グループでもテンプレートを共有することができていました。
Advanced Orange
In line with the theme of the month, Advanced Orange played a game of “Home Alone.” The homeowners were given a hoop (their house) and a bowling pin (their key). The thieves had to sneakily steal the key from the houses before the homeowners could catch them! The children had a lot of fun strategizing with their teammates and trying to protect their houses.
月の学習テーマに沿って、Advanced Orangeクラスでは『Home Alone』というゲームを楽しみました。家主は、家に見立てたフープと、鍵に見立てたボウリングのピンを持っています。泥棒たちは、家主に捕まる前に家から鍵を盗むというゲームです！チームメイトと戦略をたてたり、一生懸命家を守ったり、大変盛り上がりました！
Preschool Classes
Next week, the Preschool Classes will be doing a house roleplay! For today’s craft, they were given cardboard houses to decorate. The teachers were surprised to see that the children naturally separated themselves into boys’ and girls’ groups and chose very different colors and designs for their houses. The children were very absorbed in the activity and carefully ripped the pieces of paper into just the right sizes for different parts of the façade.
次週のプリスクールクラスでは、家のロールプレイ（ごっこ遊び）を行います！この日のクラフトでは、段ボールで作った家にデコレーションを施しました。自然と男の子チームと女の子チームに分かれて作業が始まり、先生たちも驚いていました。みんなで様々な色やデザインを使った家を仕上げました。とても集中してアクティビティーに取り組み、上手に必要な大きさの画用紙をちぎっていました。
