We often begin our lessons with a drawing activity, giving the children the opportunity to create anything they like. Afterward, they share their artwork with the class, explaining what they drew, why they chose it, and the story behind their creation. These relaxed conversations help them develop confidence in speaking English while encouraging them to express their own interests and ideas in a natural and meaningful way.
レッスンの始まりは、子ども達が好きなものを描いたり作ったりする時間を設けています。作品ができあがると、「なぜそれを描いたのか」「なぜそれを選んだのか」など、作品のバックグラウンドについて話を進めます。落ち着いた雰囲気の中で行う会話によって、英語を話すことへの自信をはぐくみながら、それぞれの興味やアイデアを意義ある方法で表現することにも繋がっています。
The children have been working hard on YLE preparation through a variety of reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities. Some practice tests are completed individually, while others are done in pairs, small groups, or as a whole class. These activities provide valuable opportunities for students to strengthen their English skills, become more comfortable with different types of tasks, and reflect on their own learning as they continue to grow in confidence.
クラスでは、ケンブリッジ国際児童英検（YLEテスト）に向けて、リーディング、ライティング、リスニング、スピーキングの練習を行っています。テスト演習は、一人で挑戦してみたり、ペアで行ってみたり、小さいグループワークにしてみたり、クラス全体で行ってみたりと様々な方法でアプローチしています。こういったアクティビティーを通して、子ども達は英語力を強化し、様々な課題に慣れていきます。また、自信が付くにつれ、自身の学習を見直すことができます。
As part of our food unit, students completed a mini-project focused on food vocabulary and quantifiers such as “a bowl of,” “a plate of,” and “a piece of.” They designed and illustrated meals they would like to eat while practicing the target language through writing and discussion. The project provided a fun opportunity to learn more about each student’s food preferences while reinforcing new vocabulary in a creative and engaging way.
テキストブックの食べ物のユニットに沿って、食べ物にまつわるボキャブラリーや「a bowl of（ボウル1杯の）」、「a plate of（一皿の）」、「a piece of（ひと欠けの）」といった容量に着目したミニプロジェクトを行いました。ライティングやディスカッションを通して、ボキャブラリーを使いながら、それぞれが食べたいものをデザインして描きました。それぞれの子ども達の好き嫌いを知る機会にもなり、新しいボキャブラリーをクリエイティブで実践的な形で学ぶことができました。
