Orangeクラスで一番人気のゲームは、『ピコピコハンマー ボキャブラリーゲーム』です。各チームに1本ずつハンマーを渡し、先生が読んだボキャブラリーのカードを探し、先に叩いたチームに加点されます！このゲームはリスニングの練習にもなり、お互いに競いながら楽しんでいます。
One of the most popular games in the Orange Class is the Piko Piko Hammer vocabulary game. Each team is given a hammer and they have to strike the vocabulary word the teacher says. Whoever is fastest wins! It’s great listening practice for them and they always have fun competing against each other.
ある日のアフタースクールでは、植物や植物の部位について学びました。新しく学んだボキャブラリーもあったので、練習も兼ねて、各自オリジナルの植物を描き、クラスの前で発表する時間を設けました。カップケーキが育つ植物や、雪を降らせる植物など、面白いアイデアがたくさん出てきました！
In one of our units we learned about plants and the different parts that make them up. To practice this new vocabulary, each child created their own plant and presented them to the class. We had a lot of original ideas, including a plant that produced cupcakes and one that made snow.
冬休み前、クリスマスについて話し合う時間を設け、休み中にやってみたいことを話し合いました。また、話をしながら、３Dのクリスマスツリーも作成しました。テキストを使ってのレッスンだけでなく、こういった工作で変化を持ち、クリエイティビティを発揮する機会も大切にしています。Before the winter holiday we took time to talk about Christmas and what we were looking forward to during our vacation. While we talked, we made our own 3D Christmas trees. It was a nice change of pace from our usual textbook work and gave them an opportunity to express their creativity.
