The Orange Class did a project where we made our own shops in teams. Here they are planning what type of shop they would like based on the two questions “What do you like?” and “What can you do?” (or what are they good at doing). They came up with their own shop names and concepts as well such as “Pokemon Flower Shop” or “Sports Shop”. When they had everything decided they made a poster for their shops.
今回は、Orangeクラスのレッスン中に行った「自分達のお店を作る」チームプロジェクトの様子をご紹介します。
こちらの写真は、「何が好きか？」と 「何ができるか？（もしくは何が得意か？）」という2つの質問に基づいて、どんなお店にするかを生徒達自身で計画している様子です。『ポケモンのお花屋さん』『スポーツショップ』など、自分達でお店の名前やコンセプトも考えました。
内容を色々決めた後は、お店のポスターを作りました。
For the shop project, they had a chance to actually make products and sell them. The Orange Class made a bunch of wonderful products to sell at their store. After they had finished everyone had the chance to go shopping at the other teams’ stores with fake money, as well as become shopkeepers. They used the target language of, “What would you like?”, “I want the ____ one, please.” for this exercise.
また、このお店プロジェクトでは、実際に商品を作って販売する機会を設けました。
生徒達は自分の店で売るための商品をたくさん作り、素晴らしい商品が出来上がった後は、みんなで店員役を交代しながら、おもちゃの紙幣やコインを持って他のチームのお店に買い物へ行きました。
買い物体験をする中で、”What would you like?”、”I want the ○○, please. “といった言い回しを練習し、実際に使ってみました。
In one of our lessons in the book, we talked about Ancient Rome and what they used to make things out of. The Orange Class got to have a go at a challenge of making either a bowl, a cup, a house, or a necklace (things that the Ancient Romans made in the book’s lesson), out of different materials we had in the school such as playdough, or popsicle sticks. This team is making a bowl out of playdough. The Orange Class had a lot of fun with this challenge.
ある日のレッスンでは古代ローマを題材に取り上げ、その時代の人々が物を作るのにどんな道具を使ったかについて話し合いました。
生徒達は、お椀（ボウル）やコップ、家、ネックレス（テキストの中で紹介されている古代ローマ人が作ったもの）のいずれかを、粘土や木の棒などの様々な材料を使って作ってみるという課題にチャレンジしました。こちらの写真は、あるチームが粘土を練ってボウルを作っている様子です。Orangeクラスの生徒達は、とても楽しみながらこのプロジェクトに取り組んでいました。
