Preschool Class
The Preschool Class continued learning about firefighters today! Their task was to create their very own firefighter hats. At first, the children carefully wrapped sheets of aluminum foil around paper plates and bowls. As they experimented, however, they discovered that tearing the foil into smaller pieces and gluing them on was much easier! Although the project was a bit messy and required plenty of patience, the children worked hard and were proud of their creations. Once finished, they eagerly put on their shiny firefighter hats and marched around the classroom, ready to save the day!
プリスクールクラスでは、『消防士』について学びました！この日の課題は、消防ヘルメットの製作です。まず、紙皿と紙ボウルに慎重にアルミホイルを巻いていきました。すると、途中でアルミホイルを小さくちぎって糊付けする方が簡単だと気付きました！骨の折れる工程でしたが、みんな頑張って製作し、完成した作品を見て誇らしげでした。キラキラのヘルメットが完成すると、被って教室内を行進しました。いつでも救助に駆け付けます！
Blue and Advanced Green
Today, the elementary classes joined together for a game of Secret Agent Tag! Because the game works best with a large number of players, several classes combined their gym periods to play together.
The game began by secretly selecting one or two “Bad Guys” and one “Free’er.” Because nobody knew who had been chosen, the children immediately began looking around the gym, trying to figure out who was friend and who was foe!
この日は小学生クラスが集まって「Secret Agent Tag（スパイ鬼）』を行いました。大人数で行った方が楽しいので、いくつかのクラスがジムに集合して、いつもより長く楽しむことができました。まず、「悪者」を1～2名と「解放者」を1名を子ども達に知られないように指名しました。ゲームが始まるや否や、子ども達はジムの中を移動しながら、だれが「良い者」で、だれが「悪者」かを考え始めました！
Once the game started, the Bad Guys moved around tagging other players. Anyone who was tagged had to freeze in place. Meanwhile, the Free’er had the important mission of rescuing frozen players by quietly sneaking up to them and whispering, “You’re free!” into their ear. Of course, they had to be careful not to get caught by the Bad Guys, or they would become the next target! The gym was filled with excitement as children raced, hid, and worked together throughout the game.
「悪者」に選ばれた子は、すぐさま他のプレーヤーをタッチして捕まえていきます。タッチされた子はその場から動くことができなくなります。一方で「解放者」に選ばれた子は、タッチされた子を順番に助け回り、こっそりと「You’re free!（解放したよ！）」と耳打ちして解放していきました。もちろん、悪者にばれないようにしないと、次のターゲットになってしまいます！ジムは子ども達が走り回ったり、隠れたり、にぎやかな空間となりました！
Pink and Purple
The elementary classes continued planning their large aquarium projects! This week, the Pink and Purple classes drew pictures of their favorite sea animals and shared their ideas with one another. Afterwards, the children voted on which creatures they would like to include in their aquarium.
PinkクラスとPurplesクラスは、大きな水族館製作プロジェクトに取り掛かっています。今週は、好きな海の生き物の絵を描いてお互いにアイデアを共有する時間を設けました。そのあと、どの生き物を水族館に入れるか、投票しました。
Advanced Orange
As planning for the aquarium project continued, elementary classes began thinking more carefully about the materials available to them. To encourage creative problem-solving, the children were given a list of materials they would be allowed to use for their final project.
Some groups had no trouble imagining their finished aquariums, while others dreamed up giant sea creatures that would require materials beyond the list! Through discussion and planning, the children began exploring how they could adapt their ideas and make the most of the resources available to them.
引き続き水族館プロジェクトに取り組んでいます。どんな素材でどんなものが作れるのか想像を膨らませられるよう、マテリアルリストを渡しました。グループごとに企画した水族館は、マテリアルリストの素材をよく考えて使ったものもあれば、リスト外の素材が必要となる巨大な生物を作ろうとするグループもいました！ディスカッションや企画をとおそいて、子ども達は自分たちのアイデアをどのように使えるのか、使える素材を最大限に活かせるのかを考えていました！
